HIGHLIGHTS

HIGHLIGHTS

The House Carpentry program equips students with the technical knowledge and hands-on skills needed to build, install, and repair wooden structures and fixtures. Through the use of both hand and power tools, students learn how to safely and effectively perform all aspects of residential and light commercial carpentry.

The curriculum covers essential topics such as:
  • Technical Mathematics for Construction
  • Blueprint reading and job estimating
  • Framing and foundation work
  • Material selection and construction methods
  • Rough and finish carpentry techniques
  • Building codes and safety standards

Students also gain experience with industrial woodworking machinery, learning to set up, operate, and maintain equipment used in the design and fabrication of wood components and custom pieces.

Graduates of the program are well-prepared for entry into the carpentry trade or advanced training, with a solid foundation in both traditional craftsmanship and modern construction technology.
