Dear Assabet students, parents, staff & Faculty,

Dear Assabet students, parents, staff & Faculty,

As your Superintendent-Director, my mission goes hand in hand with my passion and that is the reason I do what I love to do. That is, to maintain and grow a rigorous and relevant teaching and learning environment that provides every student with a sense of self confidence and belonging while helping students to mature intellectually, emotionally and socially; while perfecting their technical craft, improving academic knowledge and becoming productive citizens of a global community.

It is crucial to every student’s success that they graduate from Assabet with critical thinking skills, employability skills, technical/academic skills and industry recognized credentials necessary to pursue and achieve their goals and dreams.

Our primary goal is to provide our students multiple options upon graduating from Assabet. Those options include being well prepared to enter into the workforce, attend an advanced technical college or a two or four year college, to enter into the military or to become an entrepreneur and start their own business.

For those who think that the benefits of Assabet Valley only serve students in secondary education, there is more to us than meets the eye! Every day we are making strides, through our Assabet Community Education programs, to address 21st century middle skills in helping unemployed and underemployed adults retool and refine their skill sets to re-enter the workforce as productive members of society.

We are also making an impact in the realm of workforce development through the offering of our nationally accredited Practical Nursing program that assists in educating adults to become licensed practical nurses in only 10 months.

As you can see, we not only prepare our secondary students, which is tomorrow’s workforce, but through our adult enrichment and licensure programs we also make contributions to the local economy along with providing adult learners individual economic opportunities.

In closing, I wish all of you the best for school year and want to leave you with this thought provoking quote by William Arthur Ward:
“Do more than belong: participate. Do more than care: help. Do more than believe: practice. Do more than be fair: be kind. Do more than forgive: forget. Do more than dream: work.”
