Hello Parents and Guardians,
I want to provide you with updated information regarding the upcoming graduation ceremony to be held at the DCU Center in Worcester on Saturday, June 11th at 11:00 am.
The City of Worcester is planning to hold multiple events during the weekend of June 10th – 12th to celebrate their 300th anniversary. On Saturday, June 11th there will be a road race at 9:00 am, Parade at 11:00 am and community festival on the Worcester Common behind city hall from 12:00-5:00 pm.
Some of these events and activities are in close proximity to the DCU Center and they are expecting a large gathering of people. You should expect to see a large police/ security presence and traffic may be impacted.
Please allow extra time to arrive for the graduation ceremony that is planned to start at 11:00 am.
The doors to the function hall will open at 10:00 am.
I have met with Worcester city officials including the Worcester Police Department this week and they have requested that everyone attending the Assabet graduation plan to use Exit 20 off of Route 290 (East or West) and proceed down Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. to Major Taylor Blvd.
There is a multi-level parking garage at the corner of MLK Jr. Blvd. and Major Taylor Blvd. that will offer free parking. There are other public and private parking lots in the area that will be open but may be charging a parking fee.
Graduation is open to the public with no ticket required and no fee. There will be seating available but will be on a first come basis.
I look forward to seeing you at the upcoming events as we look to celebrate the accomplishments of the Class of 2022.
Thank you,
